VBZ 001: HY:LY

Like most people, I take most of my impromptu photos on my phone, but on more deliberate occassions I take either my Canon M50 or Polaroid with me. One of these occasions worth sharing is a shoot we did with HY:LY in 2021. We abandoned our usual, video-heavy approach instead aiming to get some high-key portraits and fashion stills for our as-of-yet unnamed music zine.

hy:ly is really creative and chill to hang with – so we had a lot of fun (the shots turned out great, too). She helped us test our new set-up, even taking the camera and getting some cool shots of Eva and I.  We tried some shots with one of those internet sunset lamps for a change of vibe.

hy:ly is an electronic artist. since this shoot she has done so much and you should check her out. Around the time we did this shoot she released her debut single, ‘secrets’ (listen here) and more recently has dropped a new tune ‘blindside’ (listen here)
